According to the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules, common liquid crystal displays are classified into: narrow viewing angle TN-LCD, STN-LCD, DSTN-LCD; wide viewing angle IPS, VA, FFS, and the like.

Among them, the three display principles of TN-LCD, STN-LCD and DSTN-LCD are the same, except that the twist angle of the liquid crystal molecules is different.

TN: Twisted Nematic liquid crystal molecules have a twist angle of 90 degrees. The TN type is the most popular type of liquid crystal display on the market, and is widely used in entry-level and mid-end panels. Commonly, there is no natural dysentery in the performance indicators. The TN panels seen on the market are all improved TN+film, film is the compensation film, which is used to make up for the lack of viewing angle of the TN panel. It is said that the TN panel is better than the previous two panels because of its output. The number of gray levels is large, and the liquid crystal molecules deflected at a high speed, which makes the response time easy to be improved. The liquid crystal products of 8ms or less on the market are all TN panels. In general, the TN panel is a product with obvious advantages and disadvantages. The price is cheap, the response time can meet the game requirements and its advantages. The viewing angle is not ideal and the color performance is unreal and obvious disadvantage.

STN: The super twisted nematic (Super TN) STN type display principle is similar to that of TN; its S is the meaning of Super, that is, the twist angle of liquid crystal molecules is increased to 180 degrees or 270 degrees, thus achieving more Superior display (due to increased contrast).

DSTN: Double layer super twisted nematic (Double layer STN). Its D is a double layer double layer, so it is better than STN. Since the display panel structure of DSTN is more complicated than TN and STN, the display quality is more delicate. DSTN scans the twisted nematic liquid crystal display by double scanning to achieve the display. DSTN is a development of the Super Twisted Nematic Display (STN).
